Ric Wood Motorsport’s HKS R32 GTR

This car is proving to be a fan favourite at NY500, and it’s easy to see why! The Ric Wood Motorsport HKS R32 is a truly epic creation and is a great homage to the legendary Group A GTR.

The R32 gained its legendary status, after dominating the Japanese Grand Touring Championship from 1990-94, winning all 29 races it entered. Upon being such a dominant competitor, the R32 was then coined by fans and commentators as “Godzilla”, and the nickname still stands for the GTR line-up to this day.

This particular car is specced to the high heavens, boasting a twin-turbo RB26, Group A suspension, a gorgeous roll cage, seam-welded chassis, beefy AP brake calipers on both front and rear (6 pots up front, 4 in the rears), centre locks, and plenty more! If you’d like to read the full spec and check out some photos, go visit our friends over at Ric Wood Motorsport.

Now if this particular car looks familiar, you may recognize it as the very same that put down some blisteringly fast times at the Goodwood Festival of Speed shootout, with Jake Hill at the wheel. The AWD GTR screams up the run, bags a mightily impressive time of just 48.96 seconds, topping the touring car class and coming 5th overall… Yup, that’s Godzilla alright.

This car won’t be at NY500 for much longer, so make sure you get yourselves down here ASAP and catch a glimpse of this beast!
